Christmas Tree Hazards

Just because the presents under the tree are unwrapped and put away, doesn't mean we can forget about the tree until the end of January! Trees will generally stop absorbing water between 3 weeks and 3 months, according to the National Christmas Tree Association. Moral of the story is this: a Christmas tree in your home has an expiration date. The longer it stays inside your home, the greater the potential for an increased fire hazard to develop.  Watch the video below for an example of how quickly a Christmas Tree will burn when dry!
